New Lens!

You know what one of the greatest benefits of being unemployed is? The ability to search out amazing deals. I have managed to upgrade from a D3000 with a AF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens to a D5000 with a AF-S 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G for under $200. The D5000 alone is over $100 more than the D3000 and the 18-70mm retails for $300...so ya. I love bargain hunting and trading up! I was thinking of getting a 67-77mm step-up ring to avoid any vignetting that might occur adding a filter but it turns out that 77mm filters are... a bit expensive for decent ones like B+W, Hoya or even Nikon. The 67mm aren't cheap either, but its a lot better than the 77mm,

New Camera!

Be on the lookout for more photos soon! I just upgraded from a D3000 to a D5000 and so far I'm loving it! The articulated LCD screen makes overhead and low shots so much easier to do so now I have new angles to explore with my camera. Plus the D5000 has more ISO settings, and Scene modes to explore, and then theres this whole ADL Bracketing which I haven't quite figured out yet. If anyone knows anything about that let me know. The manual for this thing is about an inch thick and I don't like reading unless I have to. Users manuals are always the last ditch effort to figure something out.

Flaming

I've been lucky enough in my 5 Years here on DA to only get a few comments saying my stuff sucked but when people do that it really pisses me off. One of my friends on here got a note, not even a comment, a NOTE that said his stuff sucked. What the hell is the point of flaming someone like that? Does it make you feel better about yourself and your artwork to belittle someone else you view as being less talented? I wish people could be a little more mature here. I have never and would never tell anyone that their artwork sucked because 1. it's just flat out mean 2. it's unnecessary 3. it's unproductive. Pointing out flaws like a photo being u
